As I am sure you have heard, Pope Francis issued a Motu Proprio this Friday that suppressed Pope Benedict XVI’s Summorum Pontificum and commanded that the celebration of the Traditional Mass be severely curtailed. Moreover, in the letter that accompanied the Motu Proprio, he clearly indicated that his desire is that all traditional Catholics transition, over time, to attending the Novus Ordo Mass.
With this Motu Proprio, we have entered a new winter for the traditionalist movement and a new and intensified state of necessity for the work of the SSPX.
I wanted to share with you the sermon that I gave in Madison, Wisconsin, on the Motu Proprio and its consequences for the traditionalist movement.
