A former campus minister and university chaplain at American University in Washington, D.C., has surrendered his clergy credentials after reportedly admitting to allegations of clergy sexual misconduct. On Wednesday (Aug. 18), Bishop LaTrelle Easterling shared the allegations against Mark Schaefer, a former ordained elder in the United Methodist Church, in an email to members of the denomination’s Baltimore-Washington Conference.
