The church has joined calls from the International Monetary Fund, the World Bank and the World Health Organization to provide more vaccines to developing countries. Only 1.9% of people in low-income countries have received at least one shot of the vaccine, while 63% of Americans have received at least one shot. In Italy, 73% of the population is vaccinated.
