Young Catholics unleash prayers on first day at Ignite Conference 2021 – The Catholic Leader

Ignite Youth Director Kym Keady said she was excited to offer the opportunity for young people and the broader Church in what is “an uncertain time with Covid-19”.

“We’re excited to finally be able to offer this conference, especially after having to cancel Sydney’s,” she told The Catholic Leader.

“I’m excited to be here and to witness the enthusiasm of the young people who have come. It’s exciting too, with the Plenary Council next week.”

She said registrations are “made up of more Queenslanders” than past years and the conference days and nights ahead would be the platform “to change lives”.

One difference this year has been that organisers were unable to welcome people “dropping in” without registration due to Covid regulations.

National Evangelisation Teams director Mark Doyle gave the keynote address at the opening rally on September 22 and the band Emmanuelworship got the crowd on their feet.

The September 23 morning session heard from inspiring mum, Lara Otto, who asked the question, “Do you know why you are here?”

She spoke personally about how God had transformed her life, helping her unleash His power.

“When you find out your purpose in life, everything falls into place,” she said.
