Posted by On a peaceful Sunday afternoon the side of a hill erupted suddenly – spewing smoke and ash in to the air and spilling lava down the slopes towards the town of El Paso More than 20 thousand earthquakes had signaled the arrival of magma under the island and within 24 hours of the eruption starting, more than 100 homes have been destroyed as the wall of lava makes it’s way towards the ocean. To date close to 400 buildings have been destroyed and more than 6000 people have been evacuated.
