Archbishop Salvatore Cordileone of the Archdiocese of San Francisco is calling on all Catholics to pray and fast for House Speaker Nancy Pelosi. Speaker Pelosi, who is Catholic, said “God has given us all free will,” in reference to abortions. She continues to support pro-abortion legislation. Archbishop Cordileone says, “We see that those who aggressively support abortion, so called abortion rights, they know that they are wrong, because when they are asked a simple straight forward question about life in the womb they won’t answer it.” The archbishop says it’s a spiritual battle. We as Catholics need to fast and pray the rosary, in order to jar the consciousness of pro-abortion supporters. Archbishop Cordileone says we need God’s mercy and grace now more than ever. Professor of Political Science at Grove City College, Dr. Paul Kengor, called Speaker Pelosi’s theology on free will and abortion, faulty. He wrote in the National Catholic Register, “Of course, God has given us free will but explicitly not to be used in this way…” Dr. Kengor talks more about that. He shares what he believes Church leaders should do in these instances. On another note, President Biden’s poll numbers appear to be dropping and Democratic lawmakers are divided over advancing his agenda. Dr. Kengor, who lives in Pennsylvania which is the president’s home state, explains what he is seeing and hearing on the ground in the Keystone State.
