The right to offend is a quintessentially important issue in any society — especially in a liberal democracy like the UK. Whether or not it should be a part of free speech, of course, is up to debate. While some argue that free speech should have no limits, others contend that the right to offend may pave the way towards a more hateful society. Should the right to offend be protected at all costs, or should we re-examine the basis of this right as a part of free speech?
