The NHS will be paralysed by co-ordinated strike action on December 20 under plans being discussed by union bosses, according to a report.The day of action by nurses, ambulance workers and hospital staff, would leave the NHS hanging by a thread as service levels will already be greatly reduced in the run-up to Christmas. The Guardian reported last night that union bosses and government officials had been locked in intensive talks in the last few days over how to “avoid loss of life”.Number 10 has urged them to reconsider, citing the impact on patients.
