Second Sunday of Lent: “Reminiscere Sunday”- Fr. Stanislaus of Guadalupe, FMCD 3/5/23 – YouTube

“Remember, O God, thy bowels of compassion and thy mercies that are from the beginning of the world lest at any time our enemies rule over us; Deliver us, O God, from all tribulation.” This is the Introit provided for the Holy Sacrifice today. As we continue on our yearly Lenten observance, although only in the second week, we are drawn to the refreshment of God’s infinite love and mercy. This is beautifully illustrated through the Epistle and the Gospel for today. Fr. Stanislaus looks at the common three: St. Peter, St. James, and St. John who are present for Our Lord’s Transfiguration as proclaimed today. What is it about these three that makes them so special that Our Lord only allows these Apostles to be present at the singular and miraculous events on that now sacred Mount and what lesson can be drawn from this?
