St Bernard of Clairvaux “… St Bernard charitably moderated the regimen for his monks because the highest law of the Church is the salvation of souls [salus animarum suprema lex]… anything that may be deemed an impediment to salvation can be dispensed with… but God’s law, the Summary of the Law [Matthew 22:37-39] can never be abrogated…”
The Assumption “In Mary we see one who realises true communion with God both in this life and in the next… What Mary receives we receive now and hope to realise at the end of our lives too…”
