My Cumulative Case Against Cosmic Skeptic – YouTube

Here’s to a deep dive into Alex O’Connor’s worldview! Over the past months, I’ve put out several responses that are either directly or indirectly related to his moral philosophy. In this video, I’m combining all of my counter-arguments into one cumulative case against @CosmicSkeptic. I will show how his case against free will essentially eradicates morality as he himself defines it, thus depriving all of his moral reasoning of a proper ontological foundation. We will also see how his meta-ethical framework doesn’t even qualify as an ethical theory, properly speaking. Even if it did, however, it would still have to be rejected for its absurdity as it condones rape as the moral option in a wide variety of cases. In addition, Alex’s biggest case against Christianity based on animal suffering directly contradicts his quasi-utilitarian ethical theory which puts the pursuit of pleasure at its center. These are, I suggest, some of the biggest inconsistencies within Alex’s worldview. Even so, as I point out in the end, I believe we have a lot to learn from Cosmic Skeptic, not simply because he is a sharp thinker, but much more because he takes the question of how we ought to live very seriously on a personal level. Enjoy!
