Mary Margaret Olohan, a journalist with The Daily Signal, discovered on Tuesday that Fox News Digital now uses euphemisms that normalize submitting children to so-called “sex-change” surgeries in their reporting.

“Why is Fox News using leftist lingo designed to hide the realities of transgender surgeries for kids?” tweeted Olohan. She shared a screenshot of a news report from Fox that referred to “gender-affirming surgeries” and “transgender youth” without qualification or quotation marks.

“For reference, this terminology conforms to @glaad’s style guide for reporters, which warns that ‘journalists should avoid overemphasizing the role of surgeries in the transition process,’” Olohan wrote.

The report Olohan pointed to was written by Kristine Parks. According to Fox’s website, Parks is an associate editor for Fox News Digital “covering media.”

Parks joined the company in 2022 and also “frequently covers stories on religion, free speech, abortion and education,” according to Fox.

Olohan’s observation about Fox quietly introducing LGBTQ euphemisms into their reporting on the controversial issue of subjecting children to life-altering sexual surgeries and drugs comes less than a year after Fox drew wide criticism for airing a long segment promoting the “trans” agenda among children.
