Posted by It is no secret that free speech on college campuses is under attack. Students and professors alike experience pressure to either avoid or hyperfocus on controversial topics with limited room for honest and rigorous debate. What does this tell us about the future of Western civilization? Is the university no longer a marketplace of ideas, questions, argument, and discovery? Are the more difficult topics only an opportunity for complaint, or do we have something to be grateful for from our inheritance? Where do we go from here?
