“The Ireland we dreamed of would be of a people living the life that God desires that men should live.”
Éamon De Valera
Sunday, August 29th at 2pm there’ll be a rosary prayed over the grave of President Éamon De Valera on the 46th anniversary of his death. This also marks the 100th year anniversary of Ireland’s victory in the War of Independence, so it’s a significant time for a few reasons. People of all faiths and none are welcome.
De Valera wrote Ireland’s constitution, so the fact that our constitution is now under siege makes it all the more fitting. We’ll be saying at least one decade of the rosary as Gailege.
Please, we emphasise to anyone attending to be extremely respectful as this is a prayer event, not a political one, and it’s in a cemetery. Please treat the day with the solemnity it deserves.
